Helping Girls Lead with Confidence

The first time I spoke up, my hands shook. That moment sparked my journey to help other girls find their voices at Be Bold Girls

I learned this lesson when I joined speech and debate. At first, I wanted only to practice speaking in front of others. But each time I stood up to share my ideas, I felt a little stronger. I learned that my words could make an impact. That belief gave me the confidence to step into leadership.

Now, as Communication Engagement Lead with Be Bold Girls, I help other girls build that same confidence. I work with our team to plan and run programs that give young girls real chances to lead. We interviewed speakers who shared their stories and advice. I helped conduct workshops where teens practiced leadership skills. I also helped lead the Youth Impact Fair, where girls showcased their projects, and I represented Be Bold Girls in the Next Generation of Changemakers Challenge.

This year, we also invite girls to shape one of our three committees: Community Engagement, Fundraising & Promotion. In these groups, members share ideas, plan events, and lead projects that make a difference. Whether it’s running a fair, promoting a campaign, or building connections in the community, every girl has a chance to step into leadership.

The best part of this work is watching girls grow. One girl who stayed quiet in the beginning now speaks with pride. Another who thought she couldn’t lead now guides a group with confidence. Every time a girl takes that first bold step, I see the strength of this community.

This is what Be Bold Girls is all about. We don’t just talk about leadership—we create it. We remind girls that boldness is not about being the loudest in the room. It is about having the courage to take action, share ideas, and stand up for what matters.

Together, we are building a space where girls feel ready to lead. We are raising a generation that is bold, confident, and unafraid to make a difference.
